Description

 The Instructional Assistant is responsible for assisting the master teacher in the day-to-day operations of the classroom environment. The Instructional Assistant’s primary job function is to provide service in the care, development, and instruction of children in an early care development program. To supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of each child enrolled in the program by maintaining appropriate staff/child ratios according to Title 5 Regulations. 

Requirements

  • Engage and support all young children ages 0-5 in development and learning, cognitive, social-emotional, first, and dual language development, literacy, physical and mental health. 
  • Assist the master teacher in maintaining effective environments for young children’s development and learning according to the environment rating scales.
  • Assist in the implementation of daily lesson plans developed by Master Teacher.
  • Maintain open and friendly communication with children and families.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development training and/or activities to develop as a professional early childhood educator.

Skills Required
