Role: Senior .Net Developer (IT consultant)
Location: Remote (South Africa-based only)
Engagement: Independent Contractor | 3–6 Month Contract (must be able to invoice monthly))

Role Summary
InspiredXpert is looking for a highly skilled Senior .NET Developer to support an exciting client engagement. This is a fully remote, short-term contract for a hands-on expert with proven experience delivering complex backend systems in fast-paced, client-facing environments. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, technically strong, and confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend systems using .NET (preferably .NET 6 or later).
- Build and optimise event-driven architectures using technologies such as Kafka.
- Work with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB to manage distributed data sets.
- Integrate with cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
- Engage directly with clients and project leads to gather requirements, provide updates, and shape delivery strategy.
- Operate as a trusted consultant—proactive, accountable, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Contribute to technical decision-making, architecture reviews, and system improvements.
Essential Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of backend development experience with a focus on the Microsoft stack.
- Expert in .NET Core / .NET 6+, C#, and SQL Server.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or other messaging/event streaming platforms.
- Solid understanding of MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
- Experience working in consulting, professional services, or IT project delivery environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently and leading delivery within a remote setup.
