Position Summary

Illinois Electric Works (IEW) is a leading EASA-certified motor repair, field service, and equipment solutions provider serving industrial, utility, steel, chemical, and municipal customers across the Midwest. The Inside Sales Representative plays a key role at the center of our customer experience—managing inquiries, coordinating repairs, producing accurate quotes, and supporting our rapidly growing distribution and new motor sales business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact for incoming calls, emails, and walk-in customer inquiries.
  • Build strong relationships with IEW customers
  • Provide timely, accurate communication and follow-up on quotes, repair status, delivery timelines, and service requests.
  • Partner with IEW’s outside sales team to identify leads and support key accounts. 
  • Prepare detailed repair and replacement quotes using inspection reports, estimator guidance, historical benchmarks, and IEW’s shop capabilities.
  • Quote new motors and components from IEW’s distribution partners, ensuring competitive pricing and availability.
  • Enter and maintain orders in the ERP system while coordinating closely with the shop, purchasing, and scheduling personnel.
  • Track quote conversion rates and follow up proactively to drive growth for IEW.

Requirements

  

Required

  • Strong communication skills and customer service mindset.
  • Experience in industrial sales, repair services, and/or customer-facing operations.
  • Ability to read/interpret motor nameplate data and basic technical information.
  • Proficiency with ERP/CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • High School Graduate / GED (Associate’s Degree Preferred)

Preferred

  • Experience in an EASA motor repair facility or related rotating equipment industry.
  • Familiarity with industrial environments common to IEW customers (steel, chemical, utility, manufacturing,      municipal).
  • Technical aptitude and willingness to learn electric motor fundamentals.
  • Experience supporting distributor sales for motors, drives, and mechanical components.

Pay: 

Target pay range for this role is $20/hr. - $35/hr. Pay offered will be determined based on knowledge, skills, ability and experience.
