Our client hardware and software company in the commercial construction and engineering industries with a portfolio of precision optical measurement devices and accompanying software that help our clients build buildings faster and with fewer errors.
We are looking for a hard-working, relentless and tech-savvy individual to cold call and qualify both inbound and outbound business leads, set up software and hardware demonstrations, then hand off the prospect to a sales executive for closing. We need someone bringing significant experience and expertise to the table and can hit the ground running. Experience with 3D laser scanners, survey instruments, mobile mapping, photogrammetry, or other geospatial technology is a BIG bonus.
Here are some must-have traits you’ll need to be successful in this role:
- Exacting verbal, written and listening skills—95% of this job is speaking with and writing to prospects as you ask a series of questions to assess their interest level and suitability for our software solutions. Speaking, writing and listening well are essential.
- Hard work—lead qualification is often a numbers game...more calls and emails generate more qualified leads and more appointments. So, the harder you work at it, the more successful you will be. Pretty simple, really.
- Indefatigable optimism—inside sales is hard stuff. Many more people say no than yes, and most don’t get back to you at all. If you’ve managed to stay positive during this crazy COVID pandemic (I know we have!), then that’s a good indicator of your general outlook.
- Technical know-how—our customers are engineers and surveyors; our products are precision measuring and modeling tools. They’re not terribly complex but you do need to be comfortable with technology and software to be truly effective.
- Organized — Handling nearly 600 leads on a monthly basis requires a great deal of organization. We are looking for someone who is able to manage these lists and have no lead left behind.
