The hiring range for this position is $33.00–$37.00 per hour. This is the pay range Caltrol reasonably expects to offer for this position at the time of posting. The base pay offered will reflect internal equity and may vary based on geographic location, skills, qualifications, experience, and the requirements of the position.
What You’ll Do- Engineer, size, and select valves, actuators, and instrumentation solutions that address complex process automation challenges.
- Analyze customer requirements and applications to recommend effective technical and commercial solutions.
- Prepare accurate proposals and quotations, follow up on opportunities, and help customers move projects forward.
- Build trusted customer relationships by providing responsive support, technical guidance, and exceptional service throughout the sales cycle.
- Partner with Account Managers, Order Management, Accounting, and Shop teams to support smooth order execution and a positive customer experience.
- Collaborate with sales teams, subject matter experts, business unit leaders, Emerson, and other strategic suppliers to develop effective strategies for key opportunities.
- Develop deep knowledge of Caltrol’s products, technologies, and automation solutions while continuously expanding your technical capabilities.
- Contribute to revenue growth and help customers improve reliability, efficiency, safety, and operational performance through innovative automation solutions.
- A degree in engineering or another STEM-related field, relevant military technical experience, or equivalent hands-on experience in industrial technology, process automation, instrumentation, valves, or technical sales.
- Previous technical sales or process automation experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided to candidates with strong technical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
- Experience interpreting technical specifications, drawings, data sheets, or customer requirements is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn quotation, CRM, and ERP systems.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills, with the ability to translate technical information into practical solutions.
- The ability to analyze technical information, apply sound business judgment, and recommend effective solutions.
- A collaborative mindset and confidence working with customers, teammates, suppliers, and subject matter experts in a fast-paced environment.

Work Schedule, Travel & EnvironmentThis is a full-time, Monday–Friday position performed primarily in a professional office environment. The role is eligible for Caltrol’s hybrid work program, allowing remote work up to two days per week, subject to program qualifications and management discretion. Occasional travel throughout Caltrol’s Arizona, California, and Nevada territory may be required based on business and customer needs and may include overnight stays.
