Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, with potential overtime after the regular shift and/or on Saturdays based on production needs.

Job summary:
At Lucchese bootmaker, craftsmanship defines our brand. The Inker (outsole and Heels) are responsible for applying ink, stain, color, to the edges of the boot to clean and protect them. This role is essential for maintaining the appearance and durability of the cowboy boots. The inker associate must align with Lucchese values, adhere to company polices, and support a safe and organized work environment.
Scope of job:
This role involves using various tools such as brushes, cloths, or spray guns to achieve the desired finish. The inker ensures that the application of the coating substance is even and adheres well to the surface, contributing to the overall quality and appearance of the boots. This job is critical not to stain leather, natural welt, or white stitching on the boot.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Receive rack from the finishing department to prepare inking outsole and heels.
- Review and interpret production tickets for inking specifications.
- Remove one boot at a time from the rack, hold the boot with one hand, using a small sponge brush, apply ink to the soles, sides and bottom and heel.
- After inking the 12 pairs of boots on the rack, push the rack to the staging area.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation.
- Support production goals while maintaining Lucchese quality standards.
- Comply with all safety, environment, and company policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Quality & Production Expectations:
- Meet established daily production goals.
- Maintain High fast pass manufacturing process.
- Minimize rework through proactive quality checks.
- Handle materials carefully to prevent leather damage or stains.
- Escalate quality or material concerns to Supervisor promptly.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow production tickets and work orders accurately.
- High attention to detail on time management skills.
- Demonstrate commitment to craftsmanship and continuous improvement.
- Strong organized skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work overtime as production demands require.
Education, Experience, and/or Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in boot manufacturing.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift).
- Ability to work in a fast-pace, production-driven manufacturing environment.
- Frequent movement of hands, wrist, and fingers for repetitive inking motion.
- Ability to maintain focus and precision throughout production tasks.
- Mist be able to lift 15 pounds.
- Ability to work in a production manufacturing environment.
Skills Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum two (2) years related experience in boot manufacturing
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow production tickets and work orders
- High attention to detail and time management skills
