Are you our new Infrastructure Engineer?

As an Infrastructure Engineer in our team you will work collaboratively with operations and development teams to
operate, maintain, and optimise Engineering Systems (QA, CI and Core engineering), including:

• Hardware, hypervisor and application installation and configuration.
• Troubleshooting and rectifying technical issues. 
• Ensuring system security compliance.
• Assisting with planning, design and procurement processes.
  

The role is embedded within the product engineering department, supporting the software development lifecycle. 

About You

We're looking for someone with: 

• A broad knowledge and hands-on experience of maintaining engineering infrastructure and systems, used to deliver software products (CI & Test systems, SDLC).  

• Experience of administering hypervisors (VMware ESXi, KVM, HyperV, Proxmox etc) and VMs. 

• Good knowledge and experience of networking fundamentals (including VLANs). 

• Experience of working in datacentre environments.
  The role is primarily office based with visits to a datacentre location in the UK.  

• You have experience debugging and troubleshooting hardware, networking, hypervisor, and application issues 

• You have strong communication skills, can collaborate effectively across teams, and hold a full UK driving license. 

It's a bonus if you have experience with: 

• Infrastructure management via code (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet). 

• Administration of cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS, etc). 

• Experience procuring systems and maintaining stocks of consumables and system components. 

• A keen interest in computer hardware, building systems, and related technologies. 

• Experience with Python. 

• Experience with Docker and containerisation technologies.
