About the Role:
The Data Center Infrastructure Design Engineer is responsible for designing the physical layout of data centers, including rack placement, cabling pathways, and power distribution. This role ensures that all physical infrastructure components are optimized for performance, scalability, and reliability while adhering to industry standards and organizational requirements you will be the subject matter expert responsible for the design, implementation, and management of all structured and patch cabling systems across Crusoe’s data centers. This includes overseeing low-voltage cable plant designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting the deployment of robust, scalable, and efficient network infrastructure. Your expertise will play a key role in ensuring seamless connectivity and operational excellence for our high-performance data centers.
A Day In The Life:

Develop detailed floor plans for rack layouts, equipment placement, and hot/cold aisle configurations along with DLC deployments.

Optimize space utilization while ensuring sufficient airflow and accessibility for maintenance.

Develop specifications, drawings, and layouts using CAD tools and ensure designs meet BICSI, TIA/EIA, and other relevant standards.

Select and specify materials, equipment, and components for cabling infrastructure.

Design structured cabling systems, including fiber and copper pathways, patch panel configurations, and labeling standards.

Ensure cabling designs align with industry standards (e.g., TIA-942, ANSI/BICSI).

Plan for scalability to support future growth and new technologies.

Balance power loads across circuits and ensure compliance with redundancy and failover requirements.

Collaborate with electrical engineers to specify and verify power infrastructure, including PDUs and UPS systems.

Calculate power and cooling requirements for hardware deployments.

Determine rack elevations and placement for servers, storage, and networking equipment.
-
Ensure alignment with network topology and cable management strategies.
-
Incorporate weight distribution and structural considerations in hardware placement.

Create and maintain detailed infrastructure design documents, including CAD drawings and wiring schematics.

Work closely with network engineers, deployment teams, and site managers to align designs with operational requirements.

Act as the technical liaison for vendors and contractors during the implementation phase.
You Will Thrive In This Role If You Have:

At least 7 years of experience in data center white space builds for high density deployments.

Strong knowledge of industry standards, including TIA/EIA, BICSI, and local building codes.

Expertise in designing and managing large-scale cabling systems for fiber and copper networks.

Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Visio) and project management tools.

Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.

Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality results.

Familiarity with data center operations and infrastructure, including power, cooling, and network systems.

Experience with high-density cabling solutions and emerging technologies.

Additional certifications, such as DCDC (Data Center Design Consultant) or NTS (Network Technology Systems).

In-depth understanding of structured cabling systems, rack layouts, and power distribution.

Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems in data centers, including cooling solutions.

CDCP, CDCDP, ATD or RCDD certifications preferred

Compensation Range
Compensation will be paid in the range of $ - $. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicants knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
