Assists and works alongside the Infection Control Director in functions that administer, direct, plan, evaluate the surveillance, prevention, and control of infection, and associated adverse events as approved by the Infection Control Committee and administration.

Work Experience:
- Three years clinical experience as an RN in an acute care facility.
License/Registration/Certification:
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
- Certified by the Association for Practitioners in Infection Control within two years from hire date and/or next available test date.
Education and Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
Skills:
- Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
- Possesses critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Ability to analyze data and complex problems and situations and realize potential effects of proposed actions.
- Basic skills in teaching methodologies, techniques, and aids.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of cause and control of communicable diseases.
- Knowledge of principles of sterilization, disinfection and sanitization.
- Skilled in the use of computer systems including digital camera and scanner, and related software applications.
