The Role
Description
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Michigan Warren Tech Center three times per week, at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business. This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.
The Role
As part of GM's Collision team, the Industry Relations Lead will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) at the intersection of GM and the broader Collision Industry. This position carries significant analytical responsibilities, including evaluating business processes, interpreting data trends, and supporting strategic initiatives. This role plays a pivotal part in advancing GM's position within the repair ecosystem by delivering actionable insights, informing strategy, and identifying opportunities that connect GM's objectives with real-time industry dynamics. The Industry Relations Lead will complement other strategic roles focused on dealer engagement and network compliance by owning the GM ↔ Collision Industry connection and bridging insights, trends, and innovation across the ecosystem.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
  • Build and manage relationships with key market players including insurance carriers, information providers, multi-shop operators and other 3rd party stakeholders.
  • Analyze industry data and trends to develop market-driven programs aligned with GM's strategic goals.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI and Excel to communicate insights to CCA and collision leadership.
  • Serve as GM's industry-facing liaison and represent GM at forums, working groups, and industry events.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking and track emerging technologies relevant to collision repair.
  • Support the GM Collision Repair Network program development and repair trend monitoring.
  • Drive collaboration across internal teams to align industry insights with operational and strategic goals.

Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis, market intelligence, or strategy within automotive, insurance, or collision repair industries.
  • Strong analytical and market research skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Salesforce and other BI tools; SQL, Tableau, or Python a plus.
  • Experience synthesizing large datasets into strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deep curiosity about insurance trends, collision repair platforms, and OE program strategy.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Up to 25% travel requirements

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Masters degree in Business, Market Intelligence, Data Analytics, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
  • Understanding of collision repair program operations, insurance claims ecosystems, and the value proposition of OEM-certified repair networks.
  • Familiarity with CCC, Mitchell, Audatex, and other repair estimation or claims platforms.
  • Experience managing certified shop networks (CRN/MSO/Independent).
  • Strong knowledge of OEM repair standards and procedures.
  • Proven ability to influence estimating and parts usage strategies within top insurers.
  • Ability to align insurance partnerships with OEM parts usage and certification goals.
  • Comfortable with KPIs like part utilization, cycle time, and shop throughput.
  • Track record of building and optimizing incentive programs tied to OEM parts.
  • Awareness of ADAS, EV repair trends, and certification standards.
  • I-CAR Platinum Pro Level 3 (ability to obtain ).
