Job Description
An 80-year group, COBRA promotes its own efficient business model, the result of the combination of decentralization, geographical diversification and technical specialization of more than 20,000 professionals in more than 43 countries. In this way, it offers a wide range of services throughout the value chain of projects, adapted to each sector and to the scope of the contract required by our clients, both public and private.
Cobra is divided into four main sectors of activity, Networks, Specialised installations, integrated projects and concession assets.
ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed network operator by EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), the design and construct (D&C) consortium, will design and build the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project.
The new transmission network infrastructure will deliver at least 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity from 2028 to connect 7.7 gigawatts of wind and solar projects, which is enough to power more than 2 million homes each year.
About the Role
Are you passionate about creating employment opportunities and driving workforce diversity? We’re looking for an Industry and Employment Advisor to help deliver impactful programs that support local jobs, Aboriginal participation, and inclusive supply chain practices in the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ).
In this role, you’ll work closely with Aboriginal communities, training providers, subcontractors, and industry partners to implement key plans such as the Industry and Aboriginal Participation Plan (IAPP) and the Training and Skills Management Plan (TSMP). You’ll help identify employment pathways, support culturally appropriate mentoring, and contribute to the design and rollout of apprenticeships and traineeships.
You’ll also be responsible for collecting and reporting accurate data, developing case studies, and evaluating program outcomes to ensure continuous improvement. Your ability to build strong relationships and provide guidance throughout the project lifecycle will be essential to the success of this role.
This position is ideally suited to someone based in the Mudgee, Dubbo or Wellington areas or willing to relocate or travel regularly. If you’re committed to making a difference and thrive in a collaborative, community-focused environment, we’d love to hear from you.
Required Skills and Competencies
We’re seeking someone with experience in employment support, vocational training, or adult education—ideally within the construction, infrastructure, or energy sectors. A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent) is highly valued, along with a good understanding of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), training needs analysis, and RTO compliance.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are key, as you’ll be working with a wide range of stakeholders. You should be confident managing projects, solving problems, and coordinating across teams. Familiarity with employment support programs, vocational education, and relevant funding streams will be helpful.
We’re also looking for someone who is culturally aware and sensitive to the social dynamics of the workforce, especially when working with Aboriginal communities. Relationship-building skills and computer literacy (especially in Microsoft Office) are important for success in this role.
Not sure you meet every requirement? We encourage you to apply anyway. If you bring passion, transferable skills, and a commitment to community-focused work, we’d love to hear from you. We value diverse experiences and are open to supporting the right candidate to grow into the role.
We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to apply.
We are committed to creating a culturally safe and inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected, supported, and heard. We value the unique knowledge, perspectives, and lived experiences that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples bring to our team and the communities we serve.
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, identities, and experiences. Even if you don’t meet every requirement listed, we encourage you to apply—your passion, potential, and commitment to community-focused work matter most. We’re building a diverse team that reflects the region and drives meaningful change through collaboration and shared learning.
