Position: Manager, Industrial Engineering  

Location: Uxbridge, MA  

Position Type/Schedule: Onsite Monday – Friday  

Reports To: Vice President, Operations

Starting Compensation: $125,000 - $145,000 (Compensation is an estimate and depends on skills, knowledge, education, and experience) 

Position Snapshot: The Industrial Engineering Manager leads a team of 6 Industrial & Test Engineers and is responsible for driving engineering excellence, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across the organization. This role translates business and operational priorities into clear objectives, actionable plans, and disciplined execution, delivering measurable and sustainable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity. The Manager develops team capability through clearly defined roles, standardized processes, knowledge sharing, and cross-training to strengthen organizational resilience and eliminate single points of dependency. 

Working closely with Operations and other cross-functional partners, this leader achieves results through collaboration, influence, and strong partnerships, ensuring Industrial Engineering is fully integrated into daily operations and contributes meaningfully to the organization's strategic objectives.

A day in the life: 

  • Lead Industrial Engineering and continuous improvement initiatives that drive safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity results. 
  • Develop and execute the Industrial Engineering roadmap aligned with business and operational priorities. 
  • Champion Lean manufacturing, operational excellence, and process optimization across the site. 
  • Lead and prioritize engineering and CI projects, ensuring measurable, sustainable results. 
  • Drive automation, digitalization, equipment, and process improvement initiatives. 
  • Build & lead a high-performing team through clear structure, standard processes, coaching, and cross-training. 
  • Partner closely with Operations and cross-functional teams to solve problems, align priorities, and improve performance. 
  • Establish KPI-driven decision making and structured problem-solving practices. 
  • Support capital projects through business case development, ROI analysis, and implementation planning.

Requirements

What you bring: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; equivalent education and experience may be considered
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or continuous improvement, including 3+ years leading engineers or technical teams 
  • A proven record of delivering IE and CI projects with measurable results in safety, quality, delivery, cost, capacity, or productivity
  • Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, labor standards, work measurement, capacity planning, standard work, KPI management, and structured problem solving
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is highly desirable 
  • Experience developing business cases and implementing equipment, test, automation, or layout improvements
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MES systems (SAP highly preferred) and the ability to use data to guide decisions and track results
  • Previous experience building team structure, standard processes, and cross-training programs
  • Exceptional coaching, communication, change management, and cross-functional influencing skills
  • Experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, within electronics, industrial automation, or other engineered product industries
  • Previous experience working in a global organization with strong cross-functional collaboration skills is a plus

Skills Required
