Industrial Engineer: Location: Wichita, KS

  • Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and workflow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel and optimization of product flow.
  • Maintain Action Tracker and drive the team for closure of the actions
  • Requesting operations team for Quality Gate details
  • Representing Operations team in handover meetings
  • Identifying part / material shortages ahead to reduce the impact to factory
  • Modify SAP according to Travel work and maintain documentation
  • Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. Based on these studies, develops and implements optimized product flow. 
  • May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities. 
  • Develops and provides time standards to the shop floor as well as standard work for operations and processes.  
  • Utilizes analytical skills for capacity analysis, tool and equipment utilization as well as line balancing.
  • Performs trend analysis of shop performance measures (KPI) to identify risk and opportunities for improvements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering
  • 4 -5 years of experience in an engineering classification / position
  • Experience in an Aircraft or Aerospace Manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of IE tools used in production ie: capacity analysis, facility layout, and production improvements
  • Microsoft Office - advanced skill level
  • Knowledge of Aerospace industry and standards
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, industrial, or mechanical engineering
  • 4–5 years of experience in an engineering classification or position
  • Experience in an aircraft or aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of industrial engineering tools, including capacity analysis, facility layout, and production improvement
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Knowledge of the aerospace industry and standards
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong critical-thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
