International Accounting Manager

We are seeking a skilled and reliable professional to join our International Accounting and Tax Compliance team at SKELAR as International Accounting Manager.
In this role, you will play a central part in building the international accounting function from the ground up. You will design target processes, partner with automation teams, set up ERP accounting workflows, build and mentor a team, and ensure a consistent and scalable structure across jurisdictions. Additionally, you will take ownership of VAT compliance and support the Group’s expansion into new countries.

• Designing and mapping target international accounting processes, policies, and control frameworks.
  
• Leading the transition of accounting to ERP (e.g., Business Central), including requirements gathering, data migration, configuration, testing, and go-live.
  
• Partnering with automation teams to implement scalable solutions and drive efficiency.
  
• Building and mentoring a team to support international accounting operations.
  
• Establishing standardized accounting workflows and reporting structures across multiple jurisdictions.
  
• Ensuring a reliable month-end and year-end close process across entities.
  
• Maintaining a consistent chart of accounts aligned with group standards and local statutory requirements.
  
• Coordinating VAT filings across jurisdictions and driving VAT expansion into new countries (e.g., Malta, UAE).
  
• Managing intercompany transactions from a VAT perspective and ensuring compliance.
  
• Continuously assessing processes, identifying automation opportunities, and implementing improvements to enhance scalability.
  

• Minimum 4 years of experience in Big-4/second-tier audit firms or international companies in accounting, audit, or financial transformation roles.
  
• Strong project management and process design skills.
  
• Experience with ERP implementation or accounting function setup is a strong advantage.
  
• Understanding of IFRS and VAT taxation principles.
  
• Structured thinking, excellent organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with ability to align stakeholders across functions and jurisdictions.
  
• Proactive self-starter with proven ability to initiate and drive business changes.
  
• Completed or in-progress ACCA is a strong plus.
  
• Upper-intermediate English, both written and oral.
  
• Proficient in Excel and other MS Office / Google tools.
