Role: To increase the Credit Union's portfolio of loans and other financial services initiated through relationships with auto dealers and other retail businesses capable of extending the Credit Union services to members and potential members.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Processes and decisions indirect dealer applications and communicates loan decisions to dealerships in a timely manner.
- Responsible for funding, auditing and maintaining indirect loan contracts to verify accuracy of information, compliance with policies and procedures, and adherence to America's First underwriting guidelines.
- Calls on area dealerships and businesses to establish and maintain indirect lending channels. Promotes use of Credit Union's loan service and other financial services among dealer/retail network. Trains finance personnel at dealerships and staff within the credit union to ensure everyone is knowledgeable about the program requirements and procedures. Monitors program and acts as liaison between the Credit Union and dealer/retail network.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
- Ensure all activities in the department are carried out in compliance with all Federal, State and Credit Union regulations within prescribed time frames, with zero unresolved errors and no errors that result in losses to the credit union.
- Develop and maintain a reputation as a premier partner within the dealer network by: visiting dealerships on a regular basis; ensure loans are underwritten timely using department standards; notify dealer of decision with associated stipulations; funds contracts daily within time guidelines as set by management.
- Meet or exceed operational objectives with respect to accuracy, application response turnaround times, contract funding times, and loan growth through the indirect lending program.
- Ensure the department meets 100% of established goals.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience - Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education - A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills - Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
Other Skills - Must have excellent communication skills in order to handle dealer departments and members. Must be detail oriented in order to accurately audit loan contracts. Must demonstrate proficiency with the lending function and have a satisfactory lending record and portfolio. Must be able to learn various software packages. Must have excellent member service skills.
Physical Requirements - Light lifting required.
Work Environment - Must be able to visit dealerships to promote the indirect department and programs. Must be able to attend auto/boat shows and various dealer events outside normal working hours. Must be able to work a flexible schedule; including limited Saturdays and/or holidays on a rotating basis as needed.

Skills Required
