Job Mission

The U.S. Indirect Procurement team is responsible for sourcing, supplier management, and contracting across all non-product related goods & services nationally. The team is comprised of procurement professionals who leverage procurement skills and market insights and align with internal stakeholders and so as to unlock value for ASML.

The Indirect Procurement Category Manager drives all procurement and contracting activities for assigned areas of spend. Achieve financial and non-financial goals that align with those of ASML’s Sourcing organization as well as the stakeholders.

This role is responsible for national and local supply management of all assigned areas of spend. He or she acts as an independent leader, actively sourcing, managing supplier performance, and close alignment with the business and stakeholders.

Job Description

The Indirect Procurement Category Manager is responsible for developing technical expertise and market intelligence for their area of spend. Will couple those market insights with advanced procurement technical skills so as to translate those insights into meaningful value for key stakeholders and ASML. The Indirect Procurement Category Manager will seek out, develops, and actively manages key supplier relationships.

The Indirect Procurement Category Manager will interface with Legal, Finance, and other areas to ensure that supplier relationships are appropriately vetted, contracts are consistent with policy, and risk has been effectively managed. Leads end-to-end procurement processes and promotes continuous improvements both internally and externally.

The areas of spend will be Professional Services.

Education and experience

  • Bachelors in a relevant area (Engineering, Business, Economic, or other related field required)  or combination of education and 5 years of relevant work experience required.

  • 5 years of work experience in Procurement.

  • Experience working in an engineering environment or supporting the needs of an engineering teams a plus.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop technical expertise and market intelligence for area of spend.

  • Seeks out, develops, and actively manages key supplier relationships.

  • Interface with Legal, Finance, and other areas to ensure that supplier relationships are appropriately vetted, contracts are consistent with policy, and risk has been effectively managed.

  • Develops category strategies for assigned areas of spend and executes against those strategies, achieving intended value.

  • Manages key stakeholder relationships:  ensuring alignment between Procurement’s and the business’ strategies, promoting early engagement of Procurement by stakeholders, executing against plans and communicating successes

  • Leads end-to-end procurement processes and promotes continuous improvements both internally and externally.

  • Effective leverage suite of procurement technology tools.

  • Support other members of the Procurement organization to ensure team goals are achieved.

Travel

  • Approximately 10% - 20% travel required.

Other Information

  • This position is located on-site in either San Jose or San Diego.  It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.

  • A flexible workplace arrangement may be available to employees working in roles conducive to remote work (up to two days a week). 

Role within Office

Responsibilities 

  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

  • May require travel (specify domestic and/or international) dependent on business needs.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

$81,750-136,250

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
