ISS STOXX is Hiring! We are seeking an Index Associate/Senior Associate to join the Corporate Actions team within Index Operations Department.
Index Operations is currently organized in 4 units defined as Index Surveillance and Monitoring, Index Review, Corporate Actions and Index Dividend Research across 6 locations (New-York, Frankfurt, Zug, Prague, Delhi and Hong-Kong) and is responsible for any day-to-day activities related to the maintenance of indices under STOXX mandates.
Index Operations activities covers indices such as EURO STOXX 50, STOXX Europe 50, STOXX Europe 600, as well as DAX indices, the Bulgarian Exchange Indices, and Customized Indices. The Index Operations teams are also involved in strategic projects where expertise in index implementation and maintenance is required.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Index Operations Associate, you will be responsible for researching and implementing corporate actions for equities, including mergers and acquisitions, dividend payments, stock splits, spin-offs, and other market events. The role also involves managing and maintaining associated datasets, including corporate events, reference data, and ownership information, while ensuring data quality and operational accuracy.
Additional responsibilities include conducting ownership research, supporting index maintenance activities, and providing timely and accurate information to clients through publications and notifications.
In addition, you will contribute to strategic and operational initiatives as a subject matter expert, supporting process enhancements, workflow improvements, system development projects, requirements gathering, and end-to-end testing of new applications and tools. The role offers the opportunity to drive continuous improvements across processes, controls, and operational documentation within the Index Operations function.
The successful candidate will be expected to make a significant contribution to a key growth area of the business while collaborating effectively with colleagues across global teams.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related discipline
1-5 years of professional experience within Index Operations, Corporate Actions, Portfolio Management, Asset Management, Product Development, Structuring, or a similar financial services environment
Strong understanding of financial markets and the impact of corporate actions on indices and investment products
Experience in Corporate Actions, Securities Operations, Index Operations, data management, data analysis, and data quality processes
Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
Fluency in an additional Asian language such as Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean is required
Knowledge of an additional European language (Spanish, French, Italian, or German) would be considered an advantage
Experience using Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or similar market data platforms
Knowledge of Python, VBA, Access, SQL, or database technologies would be considered an advantage
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
Flexible, solution-oriented, and detail-oriented approach to work
