Overview
The Change & CMDB Manager is responsible for governing the Change Management process and maintaining the integrity of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This role ensures changes are executed with minimal risk to the business while maintaining accurate, reliable configuration data to support incident, problem, and service management.
Key Responsibilities
Change Management
- Own and manage the Change Management process aligned with ITIL best practices.
- Chair or coordinate Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings
- Ensure all changes are properly documented, assessed, approved, and communicated
- Enforce risk assessment, impact analysis, and change categorization (standard, normal, emergency)
- Monitor change success rates and reduce failed or unauthorized changes
- Partner with infrastructure, application, and security teams to ensure smooth execution of changes
- Revamp and mature the Change Management framework, defining future-state processes, governance, and standardization across the organization
- Drive continuous improvement of change processes and governance
CMDB Management
- Own the strategy, governance, and health of the CMDB
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of Configuration Items (CIs) and relationships
- Define and enforce CI standards, naming conventions, and data models
- Partner with technical teams (Infrastructure, Application, Helpdesk/Desktop, InfoSec) to maintain CI data
- Implement and manage CMDB audits, reconciliation, and data quality initiatives
- Leverage discovery tools and automation to improve CMDB accuracy
Cross-Functional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Incident and Problem Management to support impact analysis and root cause investigations.
- Support ServiceNow or ITSM platform optimization related to Change and CMDB.
- Provide reporting and dashboards on change performance and CMDB health
- Drive adoption of ITSM processes across the organization
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- 10+ years of overall IT experience
- 3+ years of experience in Change Management and/or CMDB management in an enterprise environment
- Strong knowledge of ITIL framework, especially Change, Incident, and Problem Management
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow (Change Management and CMDB modules preferred)
- Experience working with infrastructure, application, and security teams
- Strong analytical, organizational, and governance skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- ITIL or ITSM Certification
- Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, or CMDB tools
- Experience in regulated environments (e.g., financial services)
- Experience driving process improvement or transformation initiatives

The base salary range for this position is $105,000 - $140,000 per year. This range reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. In addition, this position may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, and other compensation programs as applicable. Eligible employees may participate in a 401(k) program with a generous profit-sharing contribution, medical, prescription dental, and vision coverage; life insurance; disability coverage; paid holidays; vacation; and sick time, subject to plan terms and Company policies.
