Job Description
Job Goal
- Responsible to manage day to day import/export operations.
- Reports to and Import/Export Compliance Manager.
- Coordinate with team members to establish documented processes and procedures for Customs Department to ensure compliance with:
- Customs and IMMEX regulations,
- OEA and VAT certification requirements,
- Annex 24/30 inventory and fixed asset controls legal requirements, and
- Any other trade compliance regulations that apply.
- Responsible to supervise Annex 24/30 (inventory and fixed asset control) activities.
Main Responsibilities
- Establish proper procedures to ensure compliance of import/export transactions with customs regulations.
- Coordinate with FTA analyst to identify duty savings opportunities on preferential duty claims (FTA, ProSec, Rule 8th).
- Coordinate with USA Trade Compliance team to ensure data integrity on import/export software for compliance of broker filings on IMMEX shipments that support northbound US imports entry declarations and southbound US exports AES EEI filings.
- Reconcile Import/Export declarations on import/export software InTrade vs government data stage report to ensure data integrity of transactions and inventory/fixed assets control.
- Participate on site risk analysis and follow up on remediation actions required for compliance.
- Coordinate with other functional groups to provide timely support and compliance on production line/equipment transfers, equipment disposals, process changes, procurement of items for import, etc.
- Manage administrative side of customs operations
- Responsible to supervise team activities required to maintain compliance of inventory control for the site.
- Responsible to supervise activities required to maintain compliance of fixed asset control for the site.
- Support OEA / C-TPAT certifications as part of internal auditors program.
Job Profile
- Professional with 3 to 5 years of relevant Trade Compliance experience on similar position.
- Proficient on English, spoken and written, required.
- Subject matter expert (IMMEX, ProSec, OEA & VAT certifications) with supervisory responsibilities.
- Leadership skills to successfully manage and develop a team of professional individual contributors and execute projects timely.
