Job Description

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility is to assist in the onboarding and build of new products & distribution accounts for Afficiency's platform, working from your own initiative, under the supervision of our COO. These projects require coordination between our life insurance carriers, distributors and technology partners.

Combining aspects of project management, account management, and product development, this role offers a motivated self-starter the opportunity to become a subject matter expert in a new disruptive digital industry, making a substantive contribution to the improvement and expansion of our core business offerings

Duties

  • Own a portfolio of distribution build-out and product improvement projects, working under the supervision of senior leadership
  • Manage (or learn and deliver!) the timely input of expert advice on issues including customer experience, digital UX, API technology, marketing roll-out, licensing and appointments
  • Document detailed business requirements, project work product, and reporting as needed
  • Assist in the business development process to ensure distribution deals are brought to fruition. This includes activities such as maintaining and refining the distributor marketing and onboarding material, managing follow-ups from business development meetings, navigating parties through contracting
  • Represent Afficiency with our carrier and distributor partners, delivering a professional and smooth experience through an often-fast paced development cycle.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience as a business analyst/associate/manager in a life insurance, tech start-up, or similar job function
  • Experience in start-ups, consulting, or similar fast-paced, self-starter environment
  • Willingness to learn the business and take ownership of delivering substantive work product that moves the business forward.
  • Proven track record of working self-started, self-taught, and self-directed.
  • Experience / comfortable with highly technical environment - willingness to talk UX, APIs, and platforms
  • Organized, detailed oriented, and able to prioritize and communicate status to stakeholders.
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams, using email, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint (or Google-equivalent Applications).
  • Bachelor/Master's degree
