THE OPPORTUNITY

The Implementation Lead ensures smooth merchant integration with payment gateways by overseeing API certification, delivering tailored technical training, and supporting the adoption of gateway features. Serving as a technical expert and escalation point, this role creates comprehensive training materials, consults with business development, and collaborates across teams to continuously enhance gateway solutions and the overall merchant experience.

 

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Lead end-to-end onboarding and integration of merchants to payment gateways, ensuring compliance with certification processes and technical requirements.
  • Manage and facilitate API certification for merchants, providing clear guidance, troubleshooting complex integration challenges, and validating technical implementation.
  • Deliver comprehensive training on Virtual Terminal operation and advanced gateway features, tailored to the unique needs of each merchant.
  • Develop and maintain training and support materials, including guides, FAQs, and knowledge base articles, covering both API and gateway functionality.
  • Provide consultative support to the business development team in scoping gateway solutions for prospective and current merchants, offering technical insight and solution design expertise.
  • Engage directly with merchants to deliver training, answer technical questions, and ensure successful adoption of gateway features.
  • Function as the escalation point for client support teams, resolving complex or high-priority technical issues related to integration, configuration, or gateway operation.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, new gateway features, and best practices, incorporating these insights into merchant enablement strategies and support resources.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and customer success teams to relay merchant feedback and drive continuous improvement of gateway solutions.

    WHAT YOU’LL BRING

    • High School diploma or equivalent required
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field equivalent work experience preferred
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in payment gateway integration, API support, or merchant onboarding within the payments industry.
    • Solid understanding of payment gateway architecture, APIs, and Virtual Terminal solutions.
    • Experience designing and delivering technical training to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a customer-centric approach.
    • Experience supporting sales or business development initiatives with technical solutioning.
    • Familiarity with PCI-DSS compliance and secure payment processing.
    • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt approaches to diverse merchant needs.
    • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Client-focused mindset, with demonstrated ability to resolve issues and deliver outstanding service.
    • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments.

    SALARY RANGE

    The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
