Imaging Services AdministrationOverview of Position:
Responsible for management and supervision of diagnostic radiology, support staff and special imaging areas including Computed Tomography, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Mammography & MRI. Participates in management of base site (and off-site locations as assigned), overseeing daily operations. Assures regulatory & accreditation standards are met on an ongoing basis. Assures quality control and quality assurance programs are maintained.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Oversees daily operations of imaging services provided on the respective campus including diagnostic radiology, Computed Tomography, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Mammography, MRI & PET imaging.
2. Participates in evaluation of equipment needs, recommending replacement and/or upgrades as appropriate.
3. Ensures charge master is updated as needed to reflect current services, coding and billing standards to maximize reimbursement.
4. Works with staff to assures regulatory & accreditation standards are met on an ongoing basis (American College of Radiology, Ohio Department of Health, FDA-MQSA, etc)
5. Assures radiation practices/policies are followed to assure patient, employee and visitor safety.
6. Assists in development and monitoring of operational, FTE and capital budgets.
7. Participates in interviewing/selecting/orienting and other employee developmental activities.
8. Assists in development and implementation of policies and procedures.
9. Participates in development of job competencies and performance goals to provide employees with clear performance expectations.
10. Develops employees in decision-making responsibilities and problem solving by reviewing alternatives and providing input to the creation of action plans or goals.
11. Assures clinical rotations for student imaging technologists (radiography, nuclear medicine & ultrasound) meets college and accreditation requirements.
12. Maintains effective working relationships with radiologists and physicians to assure their expectations and needs are being addressed.
13. Participates in marketing of imaging services to referring physicians and community as needed.
14. Effectively uses computer systems (such as HIS, RIS, PACS) to process, access and distribute appropriate department and patient procedure information.
15. Participates in quality assurance/quality control activities as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (or equivalent) in an imaging specialty and licensed by the State of Ohio in Radiology as required.
2. Minimum of five years experience in a supervisory capacity related to imaging services.
3. Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
4. Demonstrated excellence with listening, verbal and written communication skills.
5. Demonstrated leadership abilities to direct staff and manage daily work flow.
6. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of technical areas of responsibility and stays abreast of developments, trends, innovations and opportunities in diagnostic imaging services.
7. Ability to work independently and under pressure in a complex and changing working environment.
8. Demonstrated computer skills and knowledge of computer software related to electronic imaging and clinical information management.
9. Bachelor Degree required
