The Role:

We are seeking a passionate and versatile 2D Illustrator with a strong foundation in digital painting, UI design, and visual storytelling to join our growing game studio. This role is focused on producing stunning visual content.

As part of a creative, fast-paced team, you will help shape the look and feel of games from concept to production. You’ll be expected to work on a wide range themes, delivering polished assets that enhance gameplay and immerse players in engaging visual worlds.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce high-quality concept art and visual explorations during early game development stages.
• Design polished mock-ups of complete game screens, conveying layout, mood, and style direction for development.
• Create 2D assets including characters, symbols, backgrounds, and UI elements for games with various themes and art styles.
• Translate creative briefs into final in-game artwork ready for implementation.
• Contribute to visual development and maintain a consistent art direction across all assets.
• Work closely with animators, developers, and producers to ensure your illustrations work seamlessly within the game engine.
• Document visual guidelines and asset production processes to help standardise future projects.

Requirements:

• Strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of 2D game art, including character, UI, and environment work.
• 2+ years of professional experience in digital illustration, or a related field.
• Expertise in Photoshop, Illustrator, or equivalent digital painting tools.
• Solid understanding of graphic design principles, color theory, and composition.
• Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• A collaborative, positive mindset with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  

Nice to have: 

• Familiarity with game development tools (e.g. Spine, Unity).
• Experience preparing layered art files for animation.
• UI/UX design experience for mobile or desktop games.
• A flair for branding, icons, and logo design for in-game features or promotional assets.
