Role: IELTS Examiner
Reports to: IELTS Administrator
Location: Houston, Texas
Description:
ELS Houston - ELS Language Center is seeking a Certified IELTS Examiner to
conduct one-to-one interviews with IELTS candidates to assess their spoken English
according to set requirements.
Job Duties:
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Examine test takers on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Maintain confidentiality and security in all aspects of IELTS.
- Comply fully with the Examiner Code of Practice and IELTS Confidentiality Undertaking
- Undertake scheduled standardization training and re-certification
- Other duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes:
- A recognized qualification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other
Languages (TESOL) or recognized equivalent as part of a recognized
university award course. - An undergraduate or master’s degree or a qualification which can be
demonstrated to be equivalent to an undergraduate or master’s degree.
Education and Experience Required
- At least 3 years’ full time (or the equivalent part time) relevant TESOL teaching
experience (minimum one-year post-certificate level qualification). - The majority of teaching experience must be with adult students aged 16 and over.

Skills Required
- Recognized qualification in TESOL or an equivalent qualification within a recognized university award course
- Undergraduate or master's degree, or an equivalent qualification
- At least three years of full-time relevant TESOL teaching experience, or equivalent part-time experience
- At least one year of TESOL teaching experience after completing the certificate-level qualification
- Majority of teaching experience with adult students aged 16 or older
- Availability to examine test takers on Saturdays and Sundays
- Completion of IELTS standardization training and recertification
