Ideation Lead - YouTube

We’re looking for an experienced operator in the YouTube industry, specialised in content, title and thumbnail ideation. You are a diligent researcher who is up to date with Gen Alpha trends, content and pop culture, with a strong background understanding and knowledge of historically successful content on and off YouTube. You apply this data to inspire new, unique and fresh ideation of engaging concepts and compelling thumbnails that make viewers click.

• YouTube Research: Regular consumption, viewing and scraping content across the YouTube platform for unique ideas, outliers and different packaging strategies from both adjacent and nonadjacent audiences and competitors.

• External Research: Regular consumption, viewing and engagement of pop culture, content and trends from social media platforms, film and TV, traditional media and changing real-life preferences and habits.

• Internal Metric Analysis: Analyze key metrics of success such as views, AVD, AVP, CTR, Impressions, etc to identify successful content patterns, areas for improvement and elements to repeat to inform ideation.

• Preparation and Presentation: Organise and format your research and ideas for presentation to colleagues and supervisors in a clear, effective and concise manner.

• Ideation: Participate in weekly ideation meetings for Make Waves (Live Action), EYstreem (Minecraft), Milo and Chip (Minecraft & Roblox), and EYreacts (Reaction) alongside showrunners, writers and packaging strategists.

• Feedback Implementation: Effective incorporate and adapt to feedback from showrunners, producers and seniors into ideation processes, ensuring alignment with channel objectives and vision.

• Historical Synthesis: You have a strong historical knowledge of Film and TV, YouTube and Traditional Media which you use to identify successful patterns in internal and external historical content, and then apply and combine those findings with new or trending concepts to formulate ideas that are fresh, but with a high chance of success and reach.

• Deadline Management and Organization: Adhere to project deadlines and maintain organizational systems and calendars to ensure timely completion of tasks, facilitating smooth project progression.

• 1-2 years of experience on YouTube; at least 6 months experience in ideation.

• Strong communication and proactive initiative.

• Ability to meet and understand deadlines.

• Ability to comprehend feedback and implement it.

• Experience and willingness to use and implement AI tools (Claude Code, Gemini, etc)

• Calendar and time management skills

• Historical knowledge of Film and TV, YouTube, Social Media, Pop Culture and Traditional Media

• Basic understanding of Minecraft, Roblox and Live Action YouTube content

• Frequently consuming content of all types.

• Able to ideate both within parameters and blue-sky.
