As an Internal Control & Regulatory Compliance (IC & RC) Expert at the Risk Business Assurance & Security (RBA&S) department of ASML, you manage internal control assignments with greater autonomy and provide guidance to peers or business contacts. You define and implement controls across multiple compliance areas and serve as a sparring partner to senior stakeholders. You support implementation of internal control strategy and bring forward improvement opportunities.
Roles and responsibilitiesYou will support and improve the design, implementation and operating effectiveness of ASML Risk and Control Management process incl 3-lines of responsibility model, methodology and tooling. You support and execute the monitoring of control effectiveness within ASML. You will challenge the Business (1st line of responsibility) over key risks and controls ownership, to ensure 1st line is ‘in control' and accountable.
You work with stakeholders up to (senior) management level, to help working on solutions for their needs/issues/concerns related to building control framework. You are service driven based on expertise and knowledge to create mutually supportive working relationships. You manage accountability in the field of Internal Control where it belongs.
Provide specialist advice to the business and helps with the design and implementation of internal controls that cover the identified risks to achieve the business objectives.
Ensure that policies and procedures within the area of internal control are applied, to ensure a uniform approach toward internal control for ASML.
Contribute to implementation of the Internal Control strategy, focused on certain strategic pillars.
Bring up new ideas for IC process improvements and efficiency gains.
Provide colleagues / team members (incl external support) with feedback, training or coaching in own areas of expertise.
Education and experience
Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., risk, finance, audit, compliance, or business administration)
8+ years of experience in internal control, risk management, or compliance
Proven ability to apply internal control methodologies in dynamic or regulated environments
Experience engaging with compliance and business teams to implement and sustain controls
Familiarity with ASML’s sector or functional operations is a plus
You bring a deep understanding of internal control design, validation, and application in a business environment. You balance technical expertise with service-oriented stakeholder engagement, ensuring solutions are practical and fit-for-purpose. You adapt easily to business needs and support a culture of control ownership and continuous improvement.
