About the Israeli American Council:
The mission of the Israeli-American Council (IAC) is to build an engaged and united Israeli-American community that strengthens the Israeli and Jewish identity of our next generation, the American Jewish community, and the bond between the peoples of the United States and the state of Israel.
Position Overview
The IAC Community Engagement Manager (CEM) will lead community engagement efforts in west Broward County, building meaningful relationships and expanding IAC's presence, relevance, and impact in the local community. This area is home to a vibrant Israeli-American and Jewish community with many established organizations, programs, and community initiatives. The CEM will develop a deep understanding of the local community, identify opportunities and unmet needs, cultivate meaningful relationships, and create initiatives that bring people together around IAC's mission. The role requires ownership of initiatives from concept through execution and follow-up, while working collaboratively with and receiving support from the Regional Director, IAC staff, lay leaders, volunteers, and community partners.
The successful candidate will identify opportunities for differentiation and develop programs and engagement strategies that deliver meaningful value and expand IAC's impact.
This is a 25-hour-per-week position, and he/she will report directly to the South Florida Regional Director.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Relationship Building
- Develop a deep understanding of the local community, its needs, opportunities, and key stakeholders.
- Cultivate relationships with community members, leaders, donors, organizations, and partners.
- Expand IAC's reach by engaging new audiences and strengthening community connections.
- Serve as a visible and professional representative of IAC at community events, meetings, and initiatives.
- Maintain an active presence on relevant social platforms and community channels to identify trends and engagement opportunities.
Strategic Programming & Innovation
- Develop and execute programs and initiatives that advance IAC's mission and community impact.
- Identify opportunities and create innovative engagement experiences that address community needs and provide unique value.
- Establish clear goals and continuously refine initiatives based on feedback and outcomes.
- Build strategic partnerships that strengthen community engagement and expand IAC's reach.
Program & Event Management
- Plan and execute programs, events, and initiatives that deliver meaningful community experiences.
- Expand participation by attracting new audiences and deepening community engagement.
- Recruit and coordinate volunteers for community programs and events
- Ensure all programs and events reflect IAC's brand and values
- Maintain accurate participant, volunteer, and partner records.
Marketing & Communications
- Develop and implement local marketing and outreach strategies to promote programs and initiatives.
- Leverage social media, community networks, partnerships, and other channels to reach target audiences.
- Ensure timely, effective, and professional communication with community members, volunteers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Represent IAC consistently and professionally across all communications and interactions.
Ownership, Organization & Execution
- Independently manage priorities, outreach, follow-up, and day-to-day responsibilities.
- Take ownership of projects from concept through execution, ensuring high-quality and timely results.
- Proactively identify opportunities and challenges, recommend solutions, and seek support when needed.
- Maintain awareness of local community activities and identify opportunities for engagement and collaboration.
- Track engagement, participation, and community impact, and provide regular updates to the Regional Director.
- Participate in IAC meetings, training, and organizational initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree.
- Strong connection to both Israeli and American identities and familiarity with Israeli culture, community, and current affairs.
- Strong understanding of or demonstrated interest in the Israeli-American and/or Jewish community.
- Proven ability to build relationships and engage diverse audiences.
- Ability to identify opportunities and turn ideas into well-executed initiatives.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with excellent follow-through and attention to detail.
- Ability to independently manage workload, priorities, calendar, and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work comfortably with volunteers, community leaders, professionals, participants, and organizational leadership.
- Strong operational and administrative skills.
- Experience in the Israeli, Jewish, nonprofit, education, community-building, or related sectors is a plus.
- Speaks, reads, and writes fluently in English & Hebrew.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, social media, and commonly used digital communication and organizational tools.
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends based on community activities and events.
**Full-time employees working 20 plus hours per week shall be eligible for insurance benefits (medical, dental, vision, & life) following the new hire waiting period.
