Overview

The I&E Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and instrumentation systems on industrial projects. This role involves supervising a team of technicians, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and coordinating with other trades to ensure the successful completion of projects.

 

Responsibilities:

- Lead and supervise a team of I&E technicians, electricians, and instrument technicians.

- Assign tasks, provide guidance, and ensure that work is completed efficiently and according to specifications.

- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities for team members.

- Oversee the installation, calibration, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems, including control panels, motors, switches, sensors, and other components.

- Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and specifications.

- Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.

- Enforce safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.

- Conduct safety meetings and training sessions for team members.

- Perform safety inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards

- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, maintenance team, and other trades to schedule work activities and ensure timely completion of projects.

- Communicate project updates, deadlines, and requirements to the team.

- Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.

- Monitor work quality and ensure that all installations and repairs meet industry standards and client expectations.

- Conduct inspections and tests to verify the functionality and reliability of electrical and instrumentation systems.

- Address any deficiencies or non-conformities promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.

- Maintain accurate records of work activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, inspection reports, and equipment manuals.

- Prepare reports for management and clients as required.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant documentation and record-keeping requirements.

 

Requirements:

- Previous experience in electrical and instrumentation work, with at least 8 to 10 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.

- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems.

- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, such as NEC, NFPA, and ISA.

- Excellent leadership and communication skills.

- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.

- Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving.

- Strong commitment to safety and quality.

Education:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.

- Additional certification or training in electrical/instrumentation technology required.
