A Snapshot

As the High Voltage Site Manager, Malaysia reporting to the HV Manager (who is based in Singapore) you will work closely with Technology, Development and Operations teams, making your mark in several ways:

  • Lead the onsite implementation and management of our high voltage (HV) systems with heavy emphasis on safe systems of work with the ultimate goal for a safe and effective high voltage network at all of the applicable AirTrunk sites and meeting all operational requirements
  • Implement practical solutions to development problems, predominately electrical, experienced during construction and by sites
  • Assist onsite with the AirTrunk commissioning team during periods of commissioning

Your Day to Day

  • AirTrunk’s HV on site networks to be as safe as possible, meeting or exceeding local code requirement and industry best practise
  • Develop and manage the HV network design on new and existing AirTrunk networks, advising on primary, secondary, SCADA, earthing and DC systems
  • Provide continual improvement to the existing HV systems designs by collaborating with the technology team during design phases to give key HV operational input
  • Specify and review AirTrunk’s HV network owner supplied assets to all applicable specifications and required standards
  • Communicate at a technical level with supply authorities
  • Supervise and collaborate with the general site contractor to ensure practical build solutions, on time and on budget
  • Supervise and collaborate with the Specialist HV site contractors to ensure practical build solutions, on time and on budget
  • Prepare or review MOP’s in conjunction with the Site Specialist
  • Identify cost saving opportunities and system improvements
  • Assist in the successful resolve of post construction related punch list items
  • Assist project and commissioning engineers with electrical related issues when required
  • Assist if required, the authorising engineer specialist support to site teams
  • Assist technology department reviews and provide operational guidance to designs

Requirements

  • Experience with a utility or in electrical contracting as a HV Engineer, HV Site Supervisor minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • Electrical trade background preferably with knowledge and experience of HV switchgear, UPS and ATS
  • Excellent technical knowledge of HV systems and assets such as switchgear, transformers, protection relays and data centre systems
  • Knowledge of secondary controls systems such as protection & SCADA systems
  • Flexible and organised to manage workload to meet deadlines
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work across different teams such as design, development and data centre operations teams
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications
  • Willingness to travel throughout Asia-Pacific; previous APAC experience preferred
  • Strong communicator and ability to interact with all professional levels within an organisation
  • Professional attitude with persuasive skills in making things happen
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD
  • Speak Malay and English
