General Position Summary: 

  

We are looking for a dynamic, hands-on HR Specialist to join our team at our automotive manufacturing plant. In this role, you won't just be sitting behind a desk; you will be the heartbeat of our facility, balancing the precision of HR standards with the fast-paced energy of a production floor.

The ideal candidate understands that manufacturing never stops. You are someone who can pivot from discussing benefits with an employee to strategizing with the HR manager to promoting us at job fairs. 

Requirements

  

· Act as the primary point of contact for plant personnel. Address discrepancies, conduct internal investigations, and ensure a fair and consistent application of company policies.

· Facilitate orientation for new hires and coordinate ongoing skills gap training to ensure the workforce stays current with automotive industry standards (ISO/IATF).

· Ability to understand and adhere to all state and federal employment guidelines.

· Oversee time-clock accuracy for a multi-shift operation. Resolve discrepancies in shift differentials, overtime pay, and holiday premiums.

· Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, team members, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

· Attends and participates in team member disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

· Supports compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

· Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.

· Assist with benefit administration to include company sponsored benefits, leaves, and retirement plans.

· Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, team members, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

· Attends and participates in team member disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

· Supports compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, payroll, and employment law

· Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processes and reporting’s

· Ensure assistance throughout our transition of a new HRIS platform, ensuring data integrity during migration and developing standardized workflows for payroll, benefits, and performance management

· Apply Lean manufacturing principles to HR administrative workflows, identifying bottlenecks and implementing streamlined solutions to enhance departmental efficiency

· Leverage HR analytics to identify workforce trends, providing stakeholders with actionable insights regarding turnover, absenteeism, and head-count planning

· Maintain a "proactive audit" posture, ensuring all personnel files, medical records, and training certifications are meticulously organized and compliant with IATF and ISO standards

· Design and manage creative employee recognition initiatives and milestone celebrations to boost morale and reinforce a high-performance culture

· Represent the organization at community events and industry panels, strengthening the local employer brand and supporting corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals

· Performs other duties as assigned

· Experience managing HR in a 24/7 or multi-shift operation is a significant plus

· Individuals must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when on the shop floor, which includes Head Protection, hearing protection; safety eye protection, gloves, sleeves and steel-toed safety shoes, High Visibility Vest.

  • Experience supporting HRIS implementations and ensuring data integrity during migration
  • Knowledge of IATF/ISO standards and maintaining compliant personnel and training records
  • Experience applying Lean principles to administrative workflows and using HR analytics to identify workforce trends
