What We Are Looking For

The HR Manager serves as a strategic partner to business leaders, driving HR initiatives that foster an inclusive, high-performance culture. This role is responsible for leading HR operations for a designated employee population, ensuring alignment with business goals while delivering an exceptional employee experience.

What You'll Be Doing:

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to field leadership on complex employee relations matters, providing strategic guidance and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead investigations and resolution of sensitive employee issues in partnership with HR leadership and legal counsel.
  • Coordinate and consult with HR leadership on performance management issues, including corrective action and termination.
  • Maintain accurate and secure records in support of employee relations, engagement, discipline and safety processes.

HR Business Partner support

  • Partner with district and regional leaders to develop action plans around organizational development opportunities.
  • Drive performance management processes, including goal setting, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Analyze HR metrics and provide actionable insights to influence business decisions and improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Facilitate leadership training and development programs to build managerial capability across the organization.
  • Conduct exit interviews with store managers and employees, as needed.
  • Review Onboarding and Exit Survey feedback and share with district managers on a regular basis.
  • Provide support and direction related to HR processes including the performance evaluation and merit increase processes.

Talent Acquisition

  • Support recruitment of store employees by reviewing, editing as necessary, and approving job requisitions and offer letters in the Company’s talent acquisition system
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to optimize talent acquisition processes and enhance candidate experience.
  • Partner with HR team to ensure competitive offers and retention strategies.
  • Support field teams in building a strong talent pipeline through proactive networking and employer branding initiatives.
  • Leads planning and participation in college career fairs, representing the company brand and engaging prospective talent.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee background check reviews and take timely action to mitigate risk.
  • Manage unemployment claim responses and ensure compliance with legal standards.
  • Provide employment verification for designated employee group, when not available through The Work Number
  • Support Workers’ Compensation case management, including filing and follow-up, as needed.
  • Process the onboarding and offboarding of employees in the designated employee group in the Company’s HRIS system.
  • Ensure accurate and timely resolution of HR inquiries via Company’s HRIS system.
  • Maintain full compliance with company policies, employment laws, and safety regulations.

Who You Are:         

Ideal education, previous work experience, special skills (e.g., foreign languages), requirements, and personal characteristics. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Strong Analytics skills
  • Some local travel required

Special Skills:

  • Foreign Languages, a plus

  • Highly motivated, self-starting individual & strategic thinker
  • Must be hands on and enjoy working in a highly creative and entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written)
  • Must be detail oriented, organized and flexible

  • Demonstrate strong project management, team leadership and the ability to deliver results
  • Flexible and able to adapt to change within an evolving group
