Shive-Hattery has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Generalist with 0 to 3 years of experience. This role provides essential support to our Human Resources team and helps us to ensure day-to-day operations across the firm.  You'll be part of a culture that values learning, mentorship, and continuous improvement. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Provide day-to-day support for HR operations and assist business units with HR related needs
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies
  • Collect, track and analyze HR data for reporting and compliance purposes
  • Assist with compensation and benefits administration
  • Facilitate and support our firm's safety program
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned to support team and organizational goals

  • Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office Suite; Word and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
  • Familiarity with employment/labor laws and HR procedures
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred, not required
  • Human Resources Certification (i.e. PHR, SHRM-CP) or a commitment to professional development is desirable
  • Must be able to work in an office environment for up to 8 hours
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to travel as needed
  • Experience in recordkeeping is a plus

This position is primarily performed in an office or hybrid environment and may require travel to project sites, other Shive-Hattery office locations or to meet with clients. A full clean driver’s license is required. The role involves sitting, standing, and working at a computer for extended periods. May also require lifting light to medium weight objects of up to 50 lbs., the wearing of PPE and navigating active construction sites. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.
