The Role

We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Stellarton, NS. Reporting to the Director – Human Resources, Immigration & Recruitment, you will be responsible for assisting in a wide range of HR functions and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the recruitment process, including creating job descriptions, posting open positions and reviewing resumes.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees to address HR-related inquiries and concerns, addressing them promptly to foster a positive work environment.
  • Create and maintain HR policies and procedures to ensure they align with company goals and legal requirements.
  • Assist with the immigration process for new and existing employees.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team as needed, including filing and document preparation. 
  • Support the HR team on special projects, initiatives and ongoing process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or completion of Human Resources Management Program. Equivalent work experience would be considered. 
  • 2+ years’ experience in an HR role, preferably as an HR Generalist, Recruiter or People and Culture Coordinator.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software (e.g. ADP, Dayforce, Workday).
