Lion Country Safari is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and people-focused HR Coordinator to support our HR department. This hands-on role supports a variety of HR functions, including recruiting, onboarding, training, compliance, employee engagement, and communication.
The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position combines strong HR knowledge with a hospitality and service mindset. As a key representative of both HR and Lion Country Safari, the HR Coordinator should bring warmth, professionalism, and excellent communication to every interaction with employees and applicants.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the full recruitment process, including posting open positions, reviewing applications, coordinating interviews, communicating with candidates, and supporting pre-employment processes.
- Support the HR team with new-hire onboarding and orientation, ensuring employees receive the information, resources, and training needed to successfully begin their roles.
- Assist with HR compliance by maintaining accurate employee records, supporting required documentation, and helping ensure company policies and employment practices are followed.
- Coordinate and support training programs for new and existing employees, including scheduling, materials, communication, and tracking completion.
- Help develop and maintain employee recognition and engagement programs that celebrate employee contributions and promote a positive workplace culture.
- Prepare and distribute the monthly HR newsletter, highlighting important HR updates, employee accomplishments, upcoming events, training opportunities, and organizational news.
- Serve as a professional and approachable representative of Lion Country Safari and the Human Resources department, providing employees and applicants with knowledgeable, respectful, and timely assistance.
- Foster a workplace environment centered around professionalism, kindness, teamwork, and exceptional service.
- Assist with employee communications and HR initiatives, ensuring information is shared clearly and consistently.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sound judgment when handling sensitive employee and HR information.
- Assist with HR projects, events, and special initiatives as needed.
- Collaborate with managers and department leaders to support staffing, employee development, training, and day-to-day HR needs.
- Help identify opportunities to improve the employee experience and HR processes.
- Provide general administrative and organizational support to the Human Resources department.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact positively with employees at all levels.
- A genuine interest in helping people and creating a positive employee experience.
- Professional, friendly, approachable, and service-oriented personality.
- Previous experience in Human Resources, recruiting, employee relations, training, or administrative support preferred.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–3 years of experience in an HR-related roles.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of professionalism and ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); HRIS knowledge preferred (e.g., Paylocity).
- Ability to multitask and work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages) a plus.
- Familiarity with employment laws and HR compliance standards.
- Customer-service mindset and proactive attitude.

What We Do
Lion Country Safari is a drive-through safari and walk-through amusement park located on over 600 acres in Loxahatchee, Florida. As one of the nation's first cageless zoos, it is home to over 900 free-roaming animals, including African lions and giraffes. The park offers animal encounters, feeding experiences, and various rides, while collaborating with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums to help save animals from extinction.
