Purpose of the Position

The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative support to the Human Resources department on the day-to-day Human Resources and administrative operations for Jessup, Maryland and Sterling, VA location. This position requires strong multitasking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. This is a temporary position and is expected to last approximately 6 to 12 months. While the primary work location is Jessup, MD, the role may require travel to the Sterling, Virginia location at least once per week.

Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Executing various administrative tasks related to supporting standard business operations, including employee engagement activities, maintaining TV monitors and other administrative tasks as required.
  • Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Responsible for related onboarding and offboarding process including prepare, compile and complete new hire paperwork in preparation for Orientation; validates I-9 verifications; request ID badge, exit interviews and Termination process.
  • Updates and maintains relevant employee information on company intranet sites (Paychex, UKG and D365).
  • Assists in the coordination and implementation of the Employee Engagement, Wellness Program and College career fair.
  • Handles employment and wage verifications as well as accurately complete state forms as required.
  • Assist TQE with safety protocols.
  • Assist the HR Manager, HRBP and HR Generalist with HR projects.
  • Assist with recruitment and interview process.

In addition to the essential functions and duties listed above, all positions are also responsible for:

  • Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.

The Company retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.

Physical Activities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, walk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle, open files cabinets, bend or stoop as necessary


Requirements

Experience:

  • 1-2 years’ experience of Human Resources experience
  • Proficient in MS office (Word, Excel, and Power Point)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Ability to operate most standard office equipment.
  • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Good to Excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.
  • Excellent telephone and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization

Other:                                     

  • Travel to Sterling, VA at least once a week may be required

Hourly pay range for this position is $ 23.00 - $27.00 depending on experience.
