Barr is seeking a human resources associate to join our Minneapolis, Minnesota, team. In this hybrid role, you will support the Corporate Human Resources team on a variety of processes across recruiting, onboarding, and human resources operations. You will play an important part in Barr’s talent acquisition process by coordinating interviews, engaging with candidates throughout the hiring and onboarding process, facilitating new employee orientation, and helping ensure consistency and quality across the function.
The ideal candidate has strong communication and interpersonal skills and is committed to creating a positive experience for candidates and employees. They are highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage a range of tasks in a fast-paced environment. They also have a team mentality and are willing to assist where needed to contribute to the group’s success.
Your impact – key responsibilities
Recruitment and onboarding support: schedule candidate interviews (including occasional travel coordination), post positions on the website and targeted media, complete pre-employment tasks (verifications and background checks), facilitate first-day orientation, and support new employee integration.
HRIS and record management: create new hire records in the HRIS and maintain accurate candidate and employee files.
Process and program support: create and update best practice documentation, support process improvements and special projects, and assist with university outreach, college recruiting, and internship programs.
HR operations and administrative support: manage internal processes (e.g., business cards) and support voluntary and involuntary terminations.
Reporting and analytics support: support HR data analysis, metrics, and reporting.

About you – required core competencies
Education: associate degree in human resources, business administration, or a related area.
Experience: experience providing high quality client service.
Software: proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Word.
Communication: excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
Helpful additional experience (not required)
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
Experience in human resources field.
Experience with the meeting scheduling components of Outlook.
Experience with Microsoft Teams and Excel.
Knowledge of laws related to recruiting and hiring.
Experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems, preferably Workday.
Compensation: anticipated range of $24.00–$27.00 hourly. Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance. This position is classified as non-exempt (hourly) under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
