We are seeking a highly organized, professional, and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to support the HR department with daily administrative and employee-related activities. The HR Assistant will help maintain employee records, assist with recruiting and onboarding, coordinate HR paperwork, respond to employee questions, and support company policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate has strong communication and organizational skills, maintains confidentiality, pays close attention to detail, and is comfortable handling sensitive employee information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources department.
  • Maintain and update employee personnel files and HR databases.
  • Assist with recruiting activities, including posting job openings, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
  • Prepare new-hire paperwork and assist with employee onboarding and orientation.
  • Process employee changes, including new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
  • Assist employees with questions regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll, timekeeping, and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee attendance, leave, and other employment information.
  • Assist with benefits enrollment and provide employees with appropriate forms and information.
  • Help prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, correspondence, and other documents.
  • Ensure required employee documentation is completed and properly maintained.
  • Assist with payroll-related administrative tasks and provide accurate information to payroll personnel.
  • Schedule meetings, training sessions, orientations, and other HR activities.
  • Help coordinate employee training and professional development programs.
  • Assist with employee engagement activities and company events.
  • Maintain confidentiality of personnel, payroll, benefits, and other sensitive information.
  • Ensure HR records and processes are handled according to company policies and applicable requirements.
  • Perform general administrative duties and other HR-related tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous administrative, office, customer service, or HR experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, and email.
  • Ability to learn HRIS, payroll, recruiting, and employee-management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional and approachable manner.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a Human Resources department.
  • Familiarity with HRIS or applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • Knowledge of basic HR practices and terminology.
  • Experience assisting with recruiting and onboarding.
  • Experience with employee records and HR documentation.
  • Familiarity with payroll and benefits administration.
  • Knowledge of applicable employment requirements is helpful.
