The City of Campbell River is seeking an experienced Human Resources Professional to join our team.

Naturally, Campbell River – Located on Vancouver Island, the City of Campbell River offers a rare combination of a welcoming small-town feel with large-city amenities. We are a 45-minute drive from the winter and summer activities of Mount Washington, and just minutes from more than 100 km of all levels of mountain biking and hiking trails, plus easy access to the ocean, rivers and lakes for sports fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding and whale watching.

Job Description

The Role: Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Advisor delivers a full range of professional human resource services including recruitment, training and development, talent management, workforce planning, employee and labour relations, disability management, and compensation and benefits.

The incumbent will lead recruitment initiatives, support organizational development, provide expert labour relations advice, and assist with the development and implementation of HR policies, programs, and services that support a positive and high-performing workplace and culture. You will also act as a trusted advisor to leaders across the organization, guiding complex people matters with professionalism and sound judgment.  Please see the job description for more information on this exciting opportunity.

Human Resources Advisor Job Description

  • Competitive compensation: Salary range of $97,859 to $111,176, commensurate with experience.
  • Attractive Vacation Package: 6 weeks in your 1st year, increasing to 7 weeks at the start of the 2nd year.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Business or Public Administration, preferably with a major in Human Resource Management.
  • Chartered Professional Human Resources (CPHR) designation.
  • Member in good standing with CPHR BC & Yukon or other provincial association.
  • Minimum five (5) years of recent human resources generalist experience working in a unionized environment, preferably within local government.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Driver’s License, and produce and maintain a clean driver’s abstract, as per City policy.
