This position is in our Frederick, MD headquarters. This individual will work with the HR Director to support the Phoenix Mecano North America employees in Frederick, MD and Chino, CA.
This position provides meaningful HR work without a traditional 40-hour workweek. Regular availability on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays is required while daily start and end times may be adjusted to fit individual needs and business requirements.
Phoenix Mecano is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Human Resources Administrator to support the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. This role serves as a key resource for employees and managers by maintaining HR records, administering benefits, supporting recruiting and onboarding activities, managing HRIS data, coordinating training initiatives.
Essential Duties
- Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files and records
- Administer tasks in the HRIS (Paylocity) including: job postings, offer letters, print performance reviews, employee change notices, etc.
- Support benefits administration maintenance, enrollment, issue resolution and employee questions.
- Support onboarding efforts: follow-up on new hire paperwork, background checks, pre-employment screenings, and internal preparation for a new employee's first day.
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives such as service anniversaries, employee recognitions, events, surveys, training and development.

- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required/Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2+ years of human resources or HR administration experience.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English effectively.
- Ability to read, write and speak Spanish is strongly preferred.
- Experience administering HRIS systems, preferably Paylocity or similar platforms.
- Experience with benefits administration and employee onboarding.
- Familiarity with California employment practices is a plus

Skills Required
