Opportunity Overview
The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in managing SafeSend’s benefits programs and partnering on other critical HR tasks. Reporting to our Director of People Operations, the Human Resources Generalist will be the primary point of contact for benefits inquiries, manage our Leave of Absence process, and will help ensure our department follows workers’ compensation requirements and other multistate requirements. The HR Generalist is responsible for managing the administration of our 401k and other employee benefits programs and partnering in handling other tasks across the employee lifecycle (including talent acquisition and onboarding, compliance, and maintaining ongoing reports). We are looking for an empathetic and high-energy candidate eager to be part of a dynamic global People Operations team that values curiosity, growth, collaboration, and trust.
The primary focus of this position will be on managing the day-to-day operations of the People Operations department.

Responsibilities – What You’ll Get to Do:
- Share in compensation and benefits administration
- Manage employee benefit programs, including vendor management; facilitating benefits open enrollment; managing 401k catchup; and ensuring compliance with health coverage and 401k program rules and government regulations
- Oversee 401k processing each payroll period
- Verify bi-monthly payroll journal
- Manage team member PTO banks
- Oversee leave of absence process
- Manage team member engagement and support
- Respond to team member inquiries (benefits questions, verifications of employment)
- Maintain our recognition and rewards platform
- Lead an internal employee committee to plan and execute employee engagement activities for in-person and remote team members
- Schedule and conduct new hire onboarding sessions and 30-day new hire check-ins
- Facilitate team member offboarding
- Help People Ops make data-driven decisions by maintaining the People Ops dashboard
Expectations – What We Need from You:
- Experience in benefits administration so that you can own the entire benefits process, including recommending benefits programs we should offer, assisting team members with claims management, processing necessary insurance and 401k documents, etc.
- Ability to communicate with team members with empathy, expertise, and understanding. The ability to translate the jargon and complexities of benefits to a layperson is key.
- An interest in the work of the People Ops department, a desire to grow and learn, and a problem-solving approach that is rooted in curiosity and efficiency.
- Experience with employee engagement activities, including onboarding, and planning engagement events both remotely and in-person.
- Working knowledge of the legal aspects of the People Ops function.
- Ability to work across teams with multiple stakeholders in all areas of the business.
- An understanding of the basic data points that matter to a People Ops team and how to calculate and track those data points to serve in our strategic planning process.
Qualifications / Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in managing employee benefits; 2+ years of experience in general HR tasks.
- Proficiency in common HR Information Systems and Applicant Tracking Systems is a plus. We use Greenhouse, Lattice, Rippling, and Assembly.
- Experience in HR at SAAS/software companies is a plus, but not required.
