We’re looking for an experienced HTML Email Developer to support our marketing and CRM team with the creation of robust, modular email templates for Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO). The goal is to deliver a set of flexible, reusable email blocks that render perfectly across major devices, screen sizes, and email clients — including Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail, and mobile apps.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop responsive, accessible, and visually consistent HTML email templates within Adobe AJO.
- Build modular and flexible components (blocks) for dynamic email assembly.
- Ensure cross-client compatibility (desktop, webmail, and mobile).
- Optimize for dark mode and ensure WCAG accessibility compliance.
- Collaborate with designers and CRM managers to implement and test layouts - bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Conduct thorough testing and QA using tools such as Litmus or Email on Acid.
- Provide documentation and usage guidelines for the delivered templates.
- Proven experience in HTML email coding (not web front-end — true email HTML).
- Familiarity with Adobe Journey Optimizer or Adobe Campaign (incl. AJOs template engine (Handlebars.js) and basic understanding of CMS/DAM systems for asset management)
- Strong understanding of:
- Table-based layouts and inline CSS
- Responsive and hybrid email design patterns
- Email client quirks (especially Outlook)
- Dark mode optimization
- Accessibility best practices (e.g., semantic markup, alt text, contrast, ARIA tags)
- Experience using testing tools like Litmus, Email on Acid, or Testi@.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to pixel-perfect implementation and brand consistency
- Coding that balances aesthetics and functionality with load times and spam filters.
- Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality, well-documented code.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Figma to HTML handoff.
- Familiarity with marketing automation tools or CRM campaign workflows.
