In this role, you will lead the initial onboarding experiences and classroom training at Arrive. Your responsibilities include partnering with recruiting and HR to ensure an exceptional onboarding process, managing our initial training for sales, operations, coverage, and accounting, and developing and updating the content and experiences of these initial onboarding programs. Additionally, you will identify needs for continuously bringing company and industry knowledge to our support services employees. Your goal is to ensure employees have an amazing onboarding experience and successfully gain the basic skills needed to move into their roles or the next level of advanced training.

Essential Functions:

  • Drives for a world class onboarding experience for all new hires.
  • Manages all onboarding communications and processes in partnership with the Talent Operations Specialist.
  • Drives the utilization of our onboarding toolkit and supports onboarding plans for all executive hires.
  • Identifies learning needs and translates them to training programs.
  • Leads entry level classroom training programs for sales, accounting, coverage and Beyond Business Hours hires
  • Leads the initial onboarding of support services hires and ensures appropriate company and industry knowledge with exposure to our business leaders.
  • Runs shadowing programs to ensure cross functional exposure for employees.
  • Develops training programs for additional functions and new business endeavors as needs occur. Continuously updates current programs based on the needs of our business.
  • Continuously improves programs to gain better engagement, understanding, and all around excitement to be at Arrive.
  • In partnership with the Director of Learning and Development, determines cohort start dates and trainee capacity.
  • Plans trainer needs and allocates resources to ensure we are staffed appropriately.
  • Manages training facilities and appropriately schedules rooms in partnership with other Training Managers.
  • Evaluates the success of training and onboarding programs while ensuring trainee success is measured and tracked.
  • Researches best practices in training and development.
  • Partners with the Corporate L&D Manager and Learning Experience Designer to develop new training materials, update current training materials and consistently use Workday Learning to offer programs and track participation.
  • Partners closely with the Business Development and Carrier Sales L&D Managers to ensure initial classroom training is meeting expectations.
  • Works with multiple stakeholders across varying levels in the organization.
  • Provides trusted partnership, consultation, and perspective to influence and improve training programs and initiatives.
  • Builds a strong partnership with Talent Acquisition; evaluates trainee performance and manages a strong feedback loop with TA management

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business Administration, Human Resources, Learning and Development or a related field.
  • Experience leading training in a sales environment is a plus.
  • Additionally, must have one the following:
  • A minimum of three years of business development, carrier sales, and/or client success experience in the logistics industry and a minimum of one year directly managing employees; OR
  • A minimum of six years of experience in Training, Learning and Development and a minimum of two years directly managing trainers.

Technical Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience working with a Learning Management System a plus
  • Advanced G Suite skills including: Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail are required. Advanced proficiency in Excel preferred
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking skills and solution oriented mindset
  • Ability to communicate concepts and outputs to non-analytical audiences verbally, through email, and in presentations
  • Intellectual curiosity, results oriented, with a strong commitment to customer service
  • Ability to build positive and productive working relationships across a variety of teams and partners
  • Detail-oriented and strives for continuous improvement.
  • Effective time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong acumen to identify future talent needs based on business strategy.
  • Demonstrated success and credibility in influencing and facilitating all levels of leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, identify root cause, and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Deep working knowledge of talenting and development industry best practices.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time. Current offices, outside of Austin, are in Chicago, Tampa, and San Antonio. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Leads 5 Training Specialists, 1 Accounting and Onboarding Specialist and 1 Beyond Business Hours Specialist
