Description

Community Vision is seeking an HR Program Coordinator to help lead and strengthen our Supported & Community Living programs.

Who We Are

At Community Vision, we believe people with disabilities should be able to direct their own lives at home, at work, and in their communities. Our Supported Living and Community Living programs are built around that belief, and the strength of those programs depends on having direct support staff who are well-prepared, well-supported, and held to clear, consistent expectations.

About the Role

The HR Program Coordinator plays a central role in making that happen.

This position sits between Human Resources and program operations, helping ensure direct support staff are thoughtfully hired, effectively onboarded, and consistently supervised—especially during onboarding and transition periods when expectations are set and performance matters most.

This is a leadership role for someone who:

  • Builds rapport and trust quickly and with ease
  • Communicates clearly and directly
  • Stays organized under pressure
  • Can make sound decisions and follow through

You’ll work closely with program leaders and HR to support both staff success and service continuity across homes.

What You’ll Do

Support Hiring & Staffing Alignment

  • Partner with HR on interviews and provide input on candidate fit
  • Develop job postings tied to specific staffing needs
  • Maintain awareness of vacancies and staffing gaps
  • Communicate regularly with HR and program leadership

Lead Onboarding & Early Employee Success

  • Support new hires as they transition into working independently in homes
  • Ensure staff are connected to supervisors, teams, and key information
  • Track onboarding progress and follow up on milestones
  • Conduct check-ins focused on performance and support needs
  • Identify and document early performance concerns and communicate with HR

Supervise Flexible & Transitioning Staff

  • Supervise on-call staff, Specialists, and employees in transition
  • Set expectations for communication, reliability, and professionalism
  • Provide coaching and address performance concerns in a timely manner
  • Maintain clear, accurate documentation aligned with HR standards

Support Staffing & Daily Coordination

  • Assist with scheduling shift coverage by responding to call-outs as needed
  • Track outreach efforts and communicate updates
Who You Are
  • You understand direct support work—not just the tasks, but the relationships, the variability of person-centered supports, and the importance of getting staffing right for both employees and the people receiving services.
  • You’re able to step into different environments, learn quickly, and build credibility with both staff and managers.
  • You know how to balance support with accountability, and you don’t avoid hard conversations when something isn’t working.
  • You’re someone people trust quickly—not because you’re easygoing, but because you’re consistent, clear, and follow through.
  • You’re highly organized and comfortable juggling multiple priorities, but more importantly, you know how to decide what matters most in the moment.
  • When things get busy or unpredictable, you stay steady, think clearly, and take action.

This is not a passive role. It requires initiative, judgment, and a willingness to step into complexity. But for the right person, it’s an opportunity to have a meaningful impact on both staff experience and service quality.
