The Opportunity

The HR Operations Coordinator is a detail-driven HR professional who owns the day-to-day execution of core HR operations and administration. This role keeps HR processes running accurately and in full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, manages the ticketing system for HR-related inquiries, and partners on cross-functional projects that improve how HR operates. It is an ideal opportunity for someone building a long-term career in human resources who wants real ownership, hands-on exposure to HR compliance, and a clear path to grow.

This is a hyrbrid role based in our Phoenix corporate office allowing for 3 days in orrfice and 2 days remote. Only local candidates will be considered.

What You'll Do

HR Administration:

  • Own the end-to-end new hire onboarding experience, serving as the primary point of contact for new hires from offer acceptance through day one
  • Coordinate communication with new hires and internal stakeholders (hiring managers, IT, Operations, etc.) to ensure a smooth and timely start
  • Process employee changes including promotions, transfers, and personal information updates accurately in internal HR systems
  • Manage the ticketing system for HR-related inquiries and ensure timely resolution
  • Coordinate employee offboarding logistics, including separation paperwork, system access removal, and final day communications
  • Ensure all offboarding steps are completed accurately and in compliance with company policy and Federal/State/local requirements
  • Maintain accurate employee records and databases, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations with a strong commitment to data integrity across all employee records.
  • Prepare and submit unemployment claims in a timely and accurate manner
  • Administer the employee referral program, tracking submissions and coordinating payout eligibility

HR Projects and Initiatives:

  • Support HR projects and initiatives, such as performance management processes, and HRIS
  • Participate in process improvement efforts to enhance HR operations efficiency.
 
What We're Looking For
  • High School diploma required
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; or equivalent HR experience.
  • 2--4 years of progressive experience in HR administration or operations, with a track record of taking on increasing responsibility.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and ticketing systems, with the ability to learn new tools quickly.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment law (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO) and the ability to apply it to day-to-day HR decisions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data integrity, with strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

Compensation

$24 - $29 per hour. The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on relevant experience and skills.
