We promote long-term success, not just for our clients but for our team, helping you develop a professional roadmap that takes your career to new heights.

Meet the team

Our People team is the connective tissue of Codal. We hire great people, help them grow, and build the systems and culture that let a global agency feel personal. We're part recruiter, part coach, part operator, and part culture-keeper. We partner with leaders across design, engineering, product, and delivery to make sure every person has what they need to do the best work of their career. We care about the details, from a smooth candidate experience to the first day to a compensation review, because those details are what make people stay.

About the role

The Senior HR Manager owns the day-to-day people operations for our US business and partners closely with our global offices in the UK, Canada, and India. Reporting into leadership, you'll be the go-to person for employee relations, performance, compensation, compliance, and culture. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who can move between strategy and execution, coach managers through hard conversations, and build the HR infrastructure a growing consultancy needs.

What you'll do
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations across the US team, coaching managers and resolving issues with sound judgment and discretion.
  • Own the performance management cycle, including goal setting, reviews, calibration, and development planning, and help managers give clear, constructive feedback.
  • Manage compensation and benefits administration, including annual reviews, benchmarking, open enrollment, and vendor relationships.
  • Lead onboarding and offboarding to ensure every employee has a consistent, thoughtful experience from first day to last.
  • Own HR compliance across multiple US states, keeping policies, the employee handbook, and practices current with employment law.
  • Partner with our global offices to align people practices, share standards, and support a cohesive company culture across time zones.
  • Administer and improve our HRIS and people data, and use reporting to surface trends on retention, engagement, and headcount.
  • Support recruiting and staffing initiatives in partnership with hiring managers and talent acquisition.
  • Champion culture, engagement, and employee initiatives that keep Codal a place people want to build a career.
What you'll need to be successful (Requirements)
  • 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, ideally within a consulting, agency, professional services, or technology environment.
  • Deep knowledge of US employment law and multi-state HR compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience across the full employee lifecycle, including employee relations, performance management, and compensation.
  • Strong coaching and communication skills, with the ability to advise managers and leaders and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
  • Experience administering a BambooHR or similar HRIS and using people data to inform decisions.
  • Exceptional organization and the ability to balance strategic priorities with hands-on execution.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience supporting a global or multi-office workforce / timezones
