Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and campus leadership across two campus locations (Queens/Staten Island). This position provides day-to-day support in areas such as employee relations, policy interpretation, onboarding, and HR compliance while fostering a positive and service-oriented employee experience. Regularly travels between campuses to provide on-site support, build strong working relationships, and ensure consistent application of HR policies and practices.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and supervisors
  • Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, orientation, benefits administration, and offboarding.
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, qualifying life event changes, and general benefits questions.
  • Review and process authorized employee changes within HR and talent acquisition systems.
  • Partner with campus leadership to address employee concerns, performance management, coaching, and corrective action while escalating complex matters as appropriate.
  • Assist with investigations and maintain accurate documentation related to employee relations matters.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and provide HR-related training for supervisors and employees as needed.
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation while ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Assist with HR compliance initiatives, audits, reporting, and required recordkeeping.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives that support organizational and campus goals.
  • Travel regularly between the Queens and Staten Island campuses to provide on-site HR support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • At least three (3) years of progressive human resources experience.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, and wage and hour regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel regularly between the Queens and Staten Island campus locations.

Classification: Exempt

Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Travel: Regular travel between assigned campuses required.

Work Environment: Primarily office-based

Skills Required
