Position Overview

The HR Generalist will provide comprehensive support across multiple areas of Human Resources, including payroll, benefits, compliance, employee relations, and HR systems administration. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who is comfortable handling day-to-day operations while also assisting with special projects and organizational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll & Compliance

  • Administer and process bi-weekly payroll accurately and timely.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Manage state tax account setup and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with ACA reporting and other regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Finance to reconcile payroll and resolve discrepancies.

Benefits & Leaves

  • Lead benefits administration including open enrollment, new hire enrollments, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee benefits inquiries and issue resolution.
  • Manage employee leaves of absence (LOAs), including coordination with EDD and other agencies.
  • Support benefits compliance and reporting requirements.

HR Systems & Reporting

  • Maintain and optimize BambooHR; train employees and managers on system use.
  • Generate and analyze HR reports for Accounting and other departments.
  • Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate HR records.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Provide day-to-day support for employee relations and conflict resolution.
  • Assist in planning and executing company-wide meetings, events, and engagement initiatives.
  • Support updates to the employee handbook and HR policies.

General HR & Administration

  • Provide HR support to leadership and employees across departments.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects and HR initiatives.
  • Serve as backup for front desk operations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, with direct experience in payroll and benefits administration.
  • Strong knowledge of ACA reporting, payroll systems, and multi-state compliance.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms; BambooHR experience strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
