The HR Generalist, is responsible for providing a broad range of HR support and services for Highline Warren’s manufacturing plant. The HR Generalist will serve as a business partner for site leadership and an advocate for employees in areas such as recruitment, new hire orientation, employee engagement, and interpretation and translation of company policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the talent acquisition and recruitment process including requisition management, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer generation, and pre-employment screening.
- Use traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, etc., to identify and attract quality candidates.
- Manage the new hire onboarding process to include new hire entry into ADP.
- Manage and conduct the orientation programs.
- Process employment changes in ADP.
- Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leave, policy interpretation, benefits, and pay.
- Interact regularly with management and associates to ensure an open line of communication is maintained in order to identify and address any issues, needs, and/or concerns as they arise.
- In partnership with the HR Manager, conduct investigations and resolve employee relations issues.
- Plan and execute employee engagement events.
- Manage HR and Safety LMS training.
- Complete HR projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of employee relations and full cycle recruiting experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of HR practices and principles.
- Good understanding of federal and state employment law.
- Previous experience and proven ability to objectively coach employees and management. through complex, difficult, and personal issues.
- Ability to handle high level of confidentiality regarding employee information.
- Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with employees at all levels and the general public.
- Understanding of and execution of proven recruiting practices.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
