The Human Resources Generalist supports a broad range of HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, HRIS management, performance management, and compliance. This role serves as a key resource for employees and leaders, providing guidance on HR-related matters while supporting the development, implementation, and administration of HR policies, programs, and best practices.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Advise leaders and employees on human resources policies, programs, procedures, and practices to support organizational goals and ensure consistent application.  

  • Support full-cycle recruiting and talent acquisition activities, including posting positions, sourcing candidates, screening applicants, coordinating interviews, preparing offers, conducting background checks, and facilitating onboarding.  

  • Participate in internal and external audits; maintain compliance documentation; conduct research; prepare reports; and implement HR best practices to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.  

  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, workplace investigations, and employee concerns. Identify trends and recommend solutions that improve employee engagement and minimize organizational risk.  

  • Support performance management programs by facilitating performance review processes and performing administrative tasks related to performance and talent development related matters. 

  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits programs and leave of absence administration, including enrollment support for new hires and annual open enrollment activities.  

  • Create, maintain, and audit employee records, documentation, and correspondence while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with record retention requirements.  

  • Generate routine and ad hoc reports, develop HR metrics and analytics, and provide insights to support workforce planning and business decision-making.  

  • Respond promptly to employee and leader inquiries, resolving routine matters independently and escalating complex or sensitive issues as appropriate 

 

Qualifications: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position: 

  • Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience; HR Generalist experience preferred. 

  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment-related regulations. 

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. 

  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. 

  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office applications. 

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 

  • Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 

  • Working knowledge of employee relations practices, workplace investigations, evidence gathering, and documentation standards. 

  • Experience using Workday, Microsoft Teams, or similar HR and collaboration platforms preferred. 

  • Ability to manage a high volume of concurrent priorities while exercising sound judgment and effective prioritization. 

Education & Experience:  

 

  • Associate's degree, certificate, or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.  

  • Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience required 

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to Title VII, ADA, FMLA, and FLSA.  

  • Multi-state or multi-location HR experience preferred.  

  • Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent) preferred. 

 

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:  

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods and move throughout the office as needed.  

  • Occasional bending, kneeling, twisting, reaching, or climbing.  

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.  

  • Requires regular use of vision, hearing, fine motor skills, and verbal and written communication.  

  • Works in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, tight deadlines, and multiple competing demands.  

  • Occasional local travel may be required 

  • Standard office environment with typical levels of noise, lighting, and temperature.  

  • Frequent interaction with employees, leaders, vendors, and external partners; must communicate effectively and professionally in person, by phone, and electronically.  

  • Regular, reliable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.
