We are looking for a highly motivated HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. The HR Generalist - Payroll is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for multi-state employees. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, analytical ability, and a comprehensive understanding of payroll systems, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
Key Job Elements
- Accurately process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
- Review, verify, and reconcile payroll data and reports for accuracy; identify and correct discrepancies through established procedures.
- Research and troubleshoot advanced technical or data-related payroll problems, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Interpret and advise management and staff on payroll policies, wage and hour laws, taxation, and compliance requirements.
- Review and authorize payroll transactions, adjustments, and special pay situations; prepare appropriate documentation to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare, file, and maintain required federal, state, and local payroll tax filings, wage reports, and compliance documentation.
- Serve as primary payroll liaison, providing professional and responsive support to employees, leadership, and external agencies regarding payroll inquiries or concerns.
- Responsible for all employment verifications.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate benefit deductions, garnishments, and general ledger postings.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years multi state payroll processing experience
